Location: park at the fire station on route 42 just past the Johns Creek mtn turn (658). Fire station is on your left, 8.8 miles from Newport community center. 25-30 minute drive from Blacksburg to fire station

Route: 47 miles. Ride over Johns creek into Maggie valley. Ride out to 311. Take 311 into Newcastle. Return on 42 out of Newcastle to top of the hill and turn off on rt 626. Take 626 to rt 42 and to the fire station. This ride is moderately hilly
