John’s Creek Loop
Friday, July 3;  9:00am;  Newport Ballfield on Rt. 42, Newport, VA
60 miles;  Class B/A ride (Intermediate/Advanced);  15-17mph with regrouping stops;  Hilly terrain with 2 climbs.
From Newport, we ride Rt. 42 and 624 to New Castle (store available).  Then Rt. 311 to Rt. 658, to Rt. 632 throught Maggie.  Up and over John’s Creek Mountain, and back to Newport on Rt. 42. Ride leader Ed Hokanson, edh@email.com, 540-552-7825

Event: Ride to Willis and back
Time: 8:30 am
Location: Meet at the corner of Childress road and Dry Valley road in Riner. Take Rt 8 to Childress Road and turn right. Go about 5 miles to Dry Valley Road (Indian valley road is opposite Dry Valley and goes left. Dry valley goes right). Turn right on Dry Valley road and park along the side of the road just past the turn.
Route: Ride out Indian Valley Road (Rt 787) to Rt 221; left to Willis and stop at the country store. From Willis we ride 221 for 2 miles to Rt 750 (Alum Ridge road) and turn left. Ride to rt 740 and turn left.  740 ends at 787, turn right and  return on Indian Valley road.
Distance: 40 miles and  hilly
Pace: 12-13 mph

Location: Shawsville Community Center, corner of Rt 11 and Allegheny Springs Road. Please park in the spaces opposite from the front door of the center.
Route: 27 miles. Out and back on Allegheny Springs road
Pace: 13-15 mph
