AoA's Tina King, Beth Lohman & Liz Hokanson from the NRVBA
The NRVBA partnered with the New River Valley Agency on Aging (“AoA”) in 2009 to organize the Wilderness Road Ride held on Memorial Day weekend. On Tuesday, October 27, 2009, the NRVBA recognized the AoA’s efforts by presenting the agency with a check in the amount of $2,200. Tina King, the Executive Director accepted the check on behalf of the AoA. She explained the money would be used to replace lost state funding in the AoA’s respite care program. The money will provide 125 hours of respite care to an unpaid family caregiver needing respite from full time care giving responsibilities.
