The Fourth Annual “The NRVBA Goes to the Movies” with Celebration at Gillie’s

January 3rd, 2010 · 1 Comment

On January 9, 2010, the NRVBA would like to invite the community for a movie double feature at The Lyric and then afterwards a celebration of 2009 accomplishments at Gillie’s Restaurant in Blacksburg. The double feature includes Bike Like U Mean – a portrait of Austin, Texas’ bike activists, those who ride their bikes for transportation, defiantly eschewing cars, and Bicycle Lane – an independent film about a bike trip across the car-focused culture in LA.

After the movies, join us for a celebration at Gillie’s where we will be serving light hors d’oeuvres and beverages.  We will be celebrating our 2009 accomplishments and showing off our community agenda for 2010!  You will also have the opportunity to meet your 2010 Board members and provide feedback on the future of the NRVBA.

Schedule of Events:

Movie:    January 9 at 1 pm, The Lyric, Members: Free, Non-members: $1

Celebration:  January 9 at 3 – 5 pm, Gillie’s Restaurant, Admission with movie ticket stub or $1
